Launch of the “Government, pay your water bills!” campaign at the WW4D
On the 25th of August 2020, SWIM had the opportunity to present the global research results on governmental non-payment of water bills at the campaign’s launch during the Week on Water for Development – WW4D organized by the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ).
This initiative of the Water Integrity Network (WIN) and End Water Poverty, in cooperation with SWIM, and with the support of GIZ, shed light on the impacts of governmental non-payment on the ability of water utilities to provide adequate service and thus the realisation of the human right to water and sanitation.
